Rendezvous 2018

Tree Climbers Rendezvous 2018

This year’s Rendezvous will be in the Costa Rican Cloud Forest August 24 to 28.  The location will be Savegre Hotel and Natural Reserve in the Talamanca Mountains. This private reserve is connected to La Amistad Park, the largest preserved natural area in Central America. The ancient primary oak forest in these mountains has an exciting complex canopy ecosystem that is still mostly unexplored. We will be climbing huge tropical oaks, exploring wonderful trails for bird and wildlife viewing and meeting other climbing enthusiasts and canopy researchers to share stories and techniques.  People with all levels of experience are welcome.

Climbing research pioneer, zip line inventor and evolutionary biologist

Donald Perry will attend and be the keynote speaker.

Rendezvous pre-and post-trips go to other locations of Costa Rica with different ecosystems and include climbing in lowland tropical forests. These trips cover the best of Costa Rica: visits to both the Caribbean and the Pacific rain forests, a volcano and hot springs, a chocolate farm, sea turtle nesting observation, wildlife, bird, whale and dolphin watching, beach time, snorkeling and options for canyoneering, zip lines, surfing and scuba diving.
